A Farewell Note From Jeremiah
As many of you know I have been on an extended leave of absence from AniMall attending to health and family issues. I am happy to report that I am feeling much better and my family is doing well. However, my time away has given me a unique opportunity to reflect on how far AniMall has come and to consider where it should go in the future.
Dan Richards founded AniMall in 2005, with a passion for rescue. Through his leadership, AniMall became one of the first pet stores in the triangle area to focus on health and wellness and moved to a prime location at Cary Towne Mall, all while focusing on visibility for local rescues.
When I was named Executive Director in 2012, I knew I had big shoes to fill but was excited about taking AniMall to the next level. Over the last 5 years, AniMall has expanded to 5000sq feet of retail space, we’ve grown our rescue network to include almost every rescue in the triangle, we’ve had cats in our store seven days a week, multiple adoption events every weekend and everyday a potential adopter has met a new friend looking for a forever home. Of course, none of this would have been possible without you; our customers, supporters and rescue partners.
As I look to the future I see new challenges and new opportunities. In order to thrive, AniMall is going to need to meet those with a new vision which is why now is the right time for me to step down and welcome Jaime Machold as Executive Director of AniMall.
Jaime comes to AniMall with a passion for rescue and an exciting vision for our future. With over 15 years’ experience in marketing and business development and a warm, out-going personality, I am confident she has the ability to lead AniMall going forward.
I consider you all family and I as I look to the next chapter in my life I hope you’ll welcome Jaime and continue to support the magic that happens at AniMall.
Jaime Machold as Executive Director
AniMall is excited to announce that we have named Jaime Machold as Executive Director. In this role, she will oversee AniMall’s business development, operations and fundraising.
“Jaime is a perfect fit for our organization. She brings a wealth of business development and team building experience to this strategic role,” said Kim Labow, AniMall Board President. “That experience coupled with her passion for animal rescue will help us to position AniMall for expansion as we adjust our business model to include more community support.”
Jaime brings more than 15 years of marketing and business development experience to her position at AniMall. Prior to joining the organization, she owned and operated a private consulting firm, handling projects large and small that included personnel management, budget planning, vendor contracts, marketing and event planning. Jaime has also served as a rescue foster for Peak Lab Rescue and owns three rescue dogs.
“AniMall has a tremendous reputation for bringing the local rescue community together,” said Jaime. “I’m thrilled to join the organization and lead this energetic team of staff and volunteers as we shift the business model and explore new opportunities to support animal rescue.”
