Prepare for Your Companion Pet’s Future! We welcome Professor Gerry W. Beyer from the Texas Tech University School of Law. Dr. Beyer has done an enormous amount of research regarding estate laws for non-human family members. When it comes to our long-lived birds, this is a particularly important issue, but you will want to consider the future needs of all your pets. What have you done to insure a future quality of life for your parrot or other pets? This is a complex issue and the needs of each pet may be different. Does the legal system permit animal owners to accomplish their goal of providing after-death care for their pets? Should I set up a trust for my pet? How can I be sure that my pet is cared for properly? These are just a few of the questions that Dr. Beyer can help us address. This event will be hosted by Phoenix Landing, a 501(c)(3) non-profit all-volunteer organization. It was established to promote and protect the welfare of parrots, especially those with an extensive lifespan. They will even have some of their adoptable birds on hand for you to meet!
